Traveld from Manchester to Brixton with my son and hubby for this one was a great gig :) I remember for son was so tiny he could not see very well and thanks to a bouncer he picked him up and put him on a ledge hehe. One of the best gigs:) still got tickets stub lol
The very first time I saw Travis live. At only 14 I remember being very alarmed by the overly crazy moshpit but completely in awe of the performance and the overwhelming feeling of happiness that Travis seem to bring to anyone in their audience.
I remember Fran came on before the encore to sing 'River', that Joni Mitchell song we've all come to love so much since the Turn single was released. I really couldn't stop smiling the whole night and the total feeling of magic didn't even end when the band left the stage because when we got outside, it began to snow.
This was a great gig! I spent the day travelling down from Newcastle to see travis play so I recall this being a very long day. Me and my friends went for a wee drink in a pub close to the Academy before making our way up the stairs to our seats on the scary balcony (not very good with heights.)
The Clint Boon Experience reminded me for some strange reason of an old band who I love called Jellyfish....Maybe it was their strange stage pressence?
Fran sang 20 tonight and I was so moved by it, I actually had a few tears :( This usually happens when I hear Fran sing More than Us but my tearducts just could not help welling when I heard his beautiful voice. Fran is very versatile, he can Rock you so hard and in the next breath sing you to sleep with a lullaby of a ballad that oozes gentleness...(gushes) Ahem.....moving on...
I was very impressed with Fran's press up technique as he insisted on proving to us all that it really was him in the Turn Video. For such a small guy, he's very fit! Lol.
Worth the travel and kput us on the high we needed in order for us to drive home to Newcastle again afterwards!
Much Love, Clare xxx
I am Austrian and my boyfriend is Scottish. So I went to see him and we travelled down to London just for the gig. Travis has a big meaning in our relationship but this was our first Travis gig together! I loved it...and I still love him!
