Arrived in Liverpool late afternoon. Off the bus and into a fast black to the radio station for a full band interview. We are well versed in this area now. After the interview it's another taxi back to the venue for soundcheck.
The 'Royal Court' is a fantastic venue. It holds 2000 people. We were originally booked to play the L2 but because of the big demand for tickets we were upgraded. It's a theatre actually. You might go and see a play in a place like this. There are three levels were you can watch the gig from. The highest is sooo high up I believe they call it 'The Gods'. 'The Gods' and the level below it are seated and on ground level it is standing. This place is massive.
At around 4pm, Nora arrives. We go get some food with Cedric from Remy Zero. Lovely spicy soup. More interviews next. A local radio station. The guy had a very pronounced radio presenter voice both on and off mike. Later in the cold corridor, outside Remy's dressing room I show Caino the chords to WTRY and in turn he shows me the chords to ...shit I forgot the name of it...but I know how to play it now so I'll get back to you with that name.
I have learned 'Hermes Bird' as well. I asked if I might sing it one night with them and Cinjun is up for it. Maybe soon then.
The show tonight I am told is one of the best we've played. I thought I was flatting all over the place and playing like a cow on a tightrope but what do I know.
The crowd were amazing tonight. Liverpool is one of those cities. The people are well up for it.
After the aftershow hello's we pile out of the venue. It's pouring with rain. There are still loads of folk waiting for us some of whom we've met at past shows. They are soaking, poor things. Photos and autographs are had and then back onto the tourbus to the hotel.
